Privacy Policy

SnapTheRoom lets you photograph a room and find furniture in it. The app and this website are operated by DILENS LTD ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17406070, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. DILENS LTD is the data controller for the information described here. This page explains what we collect through the SnapTheRoom app, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address through our authentication provider, Clerk.
Room photos and scan results. When you take or upload a photo, we send it to OpenAI to identify the furniture in it, then store the photo, the identified items, and the shopping links we generate alongside your account so you can view your scan history later.
Camera and photo library access. The app requests camera and photo library permissions so you can capture or select a room photo. We only access photos you explicitly choose to submit.
Subscription status. If you subscribe to SnapTheRoom Premium, our payment provider, RevenueCat, tells us your subscription is active so we can unlock unlimited scans. We don't see or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple's or Google's app stores.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example, which screens are viewed and whether a scan completes successfully), so we can find and fix problems.
How we use this information
We use the information above only to:
- Identify furniture in your photos and find places to buy it
- Keep a history of your past scans that you can revisit
- Determine whether your account has premium access
- Understand and improve how the app works
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your photos or scan history with the retailers we link to — those links only carry a search term for the furniture we identified, not any information about you.
Who we share data with
To provide the service, the information above passes through these providers:
- Clerk — authentication and account management
- Supabase — database storage for your scans and account status
- OpenAI — analyzing room photos to identify furniture
- SerpAPI — searching for matching products to buy (search terms only, no personal information)
- RevenueCat — managing subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play
- PostHog — product analytics
Data retention and deletion
We keep your scans and account information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all of your scan history at any time from the Profile tab in the app. Deleting your account removes your scan history from our database — this cannot be undone.
Children's privacy
SnapTheRoom is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
